PURPOSE
-------
Mass Extract is a drag and drop extractor that is typically used with many
archives; files or directories can be dropped on the main window and ME will
intelligently parse the files list to find multi-part and standard archives
for extraction. All found file extensions appear in a list and each type can
be selected or excluded from extraction; the archives can also all be extracted
to the same directory or in their own respective archive locations.

ME comes with a pre-defined list of built-in extractors which can easily be
expanded if desired. PAR and PAR2 are also supported.

Please note that Mass Extract was started and abandoned a few years ago (without
even being released), so its interface and design aren't up to my (now) usual
standards. This will be fixed in a later version if the application proves popular.

USAGE
-----
To begin using Mass Extract, simply drag and drop any folders containing the
files to extract (ME will recurse through all of the folders dropped no matter
how deep they go, so feel free to drop folders with files at any depth) in to
the main window's list and a new window will appear.

Place a checkmark next to each MAIN archive (eg. for multipart RAR files, select
all *.rar files (or *.r01 if *.rar doesn't exist) and NOT the *.r02/03/etc files)
and any *.par parity files. If required, select a destination for all of the files
to be extracted into at the bottom of the window, otherwise they will all be
extracted to their current locations.

It is strongly recommended that any and all *.par parity files are included in
the process above (and are located at the top of the list; right-click and select
Move To Top -> Pars in the main list) as Mass Extract will repair any broken files
first and THEN begin extracting them.

Once you have listed all of the files you want to process, click on Start.

Any files or folders dropped directly onto the Mass Extract icon or specified
as arguments in a commandline will work as though they were dropped into the
Mass Extract interface.

UPGRADING
---------
To upgrade your current installation to a newer version, simply delete the
Mass Extract directory and extract the new version's archive to a location
of your choice.

REMOVING
--------
To remove Mass Extract from your system, just quit the application and
delete the Mass Extract directory. To completely remove the settings,
delete the Mass Extract direction from your Windows' Application Data
directory. This is typically:

         C:\Documents and Settings\<your_profile\Application Data\Mass Extract
(Vista) C:\My Profile\AppData\Roaming\Mass Extract

TROUBLE-SHOOTING
----------------
If you get an error when you start Mass Extract, you will
need to download the Microsoft .NET runtimes package (22MB).
Please beware of wordwrap in the URL:
  32-BIT - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&DisplayLang=en
  64-BIT - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=b44a0000-acf8-4fa1-affb-40e78d788b00&DisplayLang=en

In the future, a significant portion of applications written
for Windows will use the .NET runtimes, so it is a good idea
to download it now to save hassle later.
